Sam Fisher Is In It

Sam Fisher Is In It

Stumble This Comic!

Perhaps There Are Also Guns - Lance Icarus

I was in the audience during the Ubisoft conference at PAX when they demonstrated a "PAX exclusive reveal" about Splinter Cell Conviction. All they did was "reveal" that Sam Fisher will have his trademark goggles back. I say trademark because they're always around in some form, it's just getting back in the hands of the main character. That's why we made a comic about other features in the game.

I won't harp too much on how obvious it was that these goggles were going to be in the game, but I gotta admit that they are pretty cool. Apparently these babies make walls transparent and allow you to see where people are. I like it, but it does add concern on the idea that the game has a few "easy buttons" that make gameplay very simple. Adding this element to the "mark and execute" gameplay will probably alarm fans who are use to the infamous Splinter Cell difficulty curve. Mark and Execute, for those uninitated, is basically a way to mark a couple targets in the next room to automatically shoot down before you actually set foot in said room. I think it looks like a lot of fun and I'm really excited for this game, but I'm sure people will be complaining about it when Splinter Cell actually comes out.

That's all for me this week. I hope to see you all next week for a brand new comic!
